Made a mistake purchasing this when I have a false ceiling. I didn't dare to push the spring into the ceiling lest I make a hole in the ceiling. I've taken it apart and am using the scratch poles with another cat tree and the poles are great. This isn't a bad product, just a mismatch with my house.
It was a bit hard figuring how to install at first but I didn't eventually work it out without needing help.
